Fr. Henry F. Angelino
Named publicly as credibly accused on the Fresno diocese's list in 2021. Ordained for the Diocese of Monterey-Fresno. Noted to have left the diocese in 1952. The 1954 Official Catholic Directory (which reflects 1953-1954) shows Angelino as a priest of the Monterey-Fresno diocese, retired. The following year he is indexed as a U.S. Army chaplain. Per news articles in April 1952, Angelino was arrested and charged on two counts of "immoral conduct" with a boy, and admitted to "improper conduct" with two boys for over more than a year. He was pastor of Sacred Heart in Merced at the time. In 1977 a news piece shows that Angelino was appointed by the Orthodox Roman Catholic Movement to Our Lady of the Rosary Chapel in Walnut Creek CA. He died in 1986.

From the Archdiocese of Morelia in Mexico. Arrived in CA in 1982, incardinated into the Diocese of San Bernardino. In 6/2002 an allegation of "sexual harassment and misconduct involving a minor" was filed with the church by a woman. Placed on leave. In 9/2002 two sisters filed suit alleging Ayala abused them at ages 7 and 9 in 1988 and 1989 when he baby-sat them. Their mother had reported their abuse to the Diocese in the late 1980s, with no response. The Diocese settled with them for $30K in 2004. Ayala moved to Mexico shortly after he was placed on leave; possibly in active ministry there. Indications in 2014 he was a retired priest there. Name included on the San Bernardino diocese's list 10/9/2018, noted to be "permanently barred from ministry in the Diocese."

Diocese: Archdiocese of San Francisco CA
Priest of the Archdiocese of Yucatan, Mexico, assigned in the Archdiocese of San Francisco CA 1967-1975. In 1993 a 30-year-old woman reported to San Francisco that Baquedano Pech sexually abused her for several years, beginning when she was 11; the Archdiocese said it was not responsible because he was a visiting priest. She repeatedly warned Mexico church officials, but was kept in ministry there. The woman sued the San Francisco Archdiocese and received a settlement in 2006. He was suspended 4/26/2010 by the Yucatan archdiocese, just after the allegations appeared in a Washington Post news article.

Fr. Bernard Dabbene
In 1959 a 9th grade boy at Salesian High School in Richmond CA reported to Dabbene's superior that Dabbene had molested him twice. Dabenne was then a lay brother and a teacher at the school. Dabbene then "left [the boy] alone" and went on to become principal at Salesian schools, and an official with the San Francisco archdiocese. In 1971 allegations were reported to the Diocese of Oakland (formerly part of the SF archdiocese). In 11/2000 Dabbene was arrested after he was found in a car with 17-year-old boy, both with their pants unzipped. Found guilty. Sentenced to three years probation and community service. Sent to St. John Vianney in Philadelphia for treatment. Named in a 2003 civil suit which alleged he was part of a ring of child molesters at Salesian High School 1969-1973. Lived at the Salesian provincial headquarters for years. Died 9/9/2010. Included on the Oakland diocese's list in 2019.

Fr. John G. Garcia
In 11/2022 a 34-year-old man claimed in a lawsuit that Garcia sexually abused him over two years, beginning when he was an 8-year-old altar boy in the late 1990s. Garcia was assigned at the time in question to Immaculate Heart of Mary in Brentwood. The abuse allegedly included rape. Garcia retired from the parish in 2001, after 17 years. He died in 2003. He was accused in a 12/2022 suit of raping a boy, age 12, in the late 1960s, and of telling the boy he would die if he told. Another lawsuit the same month alleged abuse by Garcia of a boy in 1974. In 12/2022 there were reportedly four known accusers.

Gates was assigned in 1970 to a Phoenix parish, then worked in the Guaymas, Mexico in the Diocese of Ciudad Obregon 1971-1999. He died in 2000. Fr. Elwood F. Geary
Accused in a lawsuit sometime between 2020-2022 of sexually abusing a boy, age 11, in 1968 at Our Lady Queen of Apostles in San Jose. Geary allegedly fondled the boy's genitals and forced oral sex on him. Geary was the parish's founding pastor in 1960, remaining in that role until 1979. The parish was part of the Archdiocese of San Francisco until the Diocese of San Jose was established in 1981, the year Geary died.
Br. Michael Geilenfeld
Brother of the Missionaries of Charity, entering in 1974. From Iowa. Worked as a brother in Los Angeles, Cambodia, El Salvador and India before settling in Haiti. Left the order and founded St. Joseph's orphanage for boys in Port-au-Prince in 1985. The boys were destitute, living in the streets. Geilenfeld would take boys across the U.S. and in England for fundraising tours, in which the boys performed as a dance troupe. Allegations first surfaced publicly in 12/1995 when 8 boys on tour in Detroit told authorities that Geilenfeld sexually and physically abused them at the orphanage. A judge ordered them to return to Haiti with Geilenfeld, saying he had no jurisdiction. The boys' attorney said there were allegations as early as 1987, and that boys also complained while touring England. In 2011 Haiti journalist Cyrus Sibert broke the story of allegations against Geilenfeld after a missionary contacted him. Survivor advocate Paul Kendrick, from ME, got involved; he and Sibert worked together for years to demand Geilenfeld's arrest. Dozens of boys and young men came forward. Geilenfeld was arrested in 2014 in Port-Au-Prince and spent a year in jail. The case was dismissed after 5 alleged victims did not show up for a hearing. Geilenfeld and a charity funding him, Hearts with Haiti, sued Kendrick for defamation. A jury decided for Geilenfeld, dismissed on appeal. Settled in 2019, $3M for the charity, nothing for Geilenfeld. Arrested in the Dominican Republic in 4/2019, to where he allegedly had fled from Haiti to avoid arrest there. He had also opened a home for boys in the Dominican Republic. Arrested in Denver CO 1/22/24, charged with traveling from Miami FL to Haiti to have sex with children between 11/2006 and 12/2010. Pleaded not guilty in Miami federal court 2/16/2024. Ordered to be held in federal prison while awaiting trial.

After ordination Gemmet was assigned to St. Timothy in San Mateo. Per the San Jose diocese, in the 1960s and 1970s he was assigned to St. Christopher in San Jose and St. Mary in Gilroy. Placed on leave pending investigation. Returned to ministry in 12/2021. Three suits reportedly were filed by 6/23/2022. One claims Ghiorso plied an altar boy with wine and raped him at St. Vincents School for Boys for a year beginning in 1989. Another suit, filed in 4/2022, claims Ghiorso raped a boy multiple times at St. Vincents 1988-1991, beginning when the boy was age 10. One accuser said he reported the abuse at the time to the school and was then placed in a foster home. Ghiorso's attorney denied the allegations.

On 1/12/2013, the Order announced that Keppel had been removed after it had received (in summer 2012) an allegation of sexual misconduct involving a teenage boy in the San Bernardino Diocese in the late 1970s. The boy was not a member of either Our Lady of the Lake or St. Anne's in the Mountains where Keppel was assigned for many years. The Diocese investigated and both the Diocese and Order found reasonable cause to believe that the behavior did occur. Sentenced in 2012 by the Vatican to a life of prayer and penance. Included on the Diocese's list 10/9/2018. On the Mobile Archdiocese's list 12/6/2018, which notes "misconduct" occurring 1977-1981; it doesn't say where. Worked at some point at Resurrection parish in Montgomery. On the Stockton diocese's 11/12/2020 list, noting he was a visiting priest at Mammoth Lakes during Lent 2012. Included on the Resurrectionists' list of credibly accused 10/27/2021.

Fr. Jeffrey David Newell
German. Also known as Jeffrey David Newell Lambert. In 1991 a young man told the Archdiocese that he had been abused for years by Newell from age 15 in 1986, beginning when Newell was a lay youth minister, prior to ordination. The Archdiocese promised that Newell would never work in youth ministry again. Newell was removed from ministry "for other reasons" in 1993. Admitted the abuse, sent to treatment in MD. Found in 2010 working with children as a priest in Tijuana, Mexico. Accuser filed suit in 6/2010 accusing the L.A. Archdiocese of fraud. One of seven priests of the Tijuana, Mexico Archdiocese who were removed without privileges as of 6/20/2014. Case sent to the Vatican. Found by a reporter in 11/2019 working as pastor of a Tijuana parish. Suit filed by a second man in 2/2020 in CA alleging abuse as a young teen by Newell, beginning in 1993. As of 3/2022, Newell was still listed on the Tijuana Archdiocese website, as the pastor of Nuestra Senora de la Encarnacion in Tijuana. As of 5/2023, he was no longer listed with the parish but seemed to still be in active ministry; he was named on the archdiocesan website as the diocesan contact for a charismatic group, Comunidades Católicas Carismáticas de Alianza, and for Koinonia, the archdiocesan radio station that he founded in 2010.

Sent from the Diocese of Orange to Idaho in 2002 after an 'affair' with a woman. Was returned in 2003 to Orange after a repairman found child abuse images on his computer at the church in Idaho. The Diocee of Orange immediately placed him on leave. Idaho authorities later determined there was not sufficient evidence of a criminal act. Status per the Orange website in 8/2016 was "voluntary permanent leave." Per the Diocese's list updated 4/2/2019, Nguyen was seeking laicization. The list in 12/2020 shows that Nguyen had been laicized.

Fr. Joseph R. Watt
Per the Official Catholic Directory, Watt was ordained for the Trappists and worked at Gethsemani Abbey in Kentucky, known as Fr. M. Marion Watt. Appears to have left the Order and Abbey by 1965, assigned that year in the Diocese of Monterey-Fresno, as Fr. Joseph R. Watt. Accused in a lawsuit sometime between 2020-2022 of sexually abusing an altar boy in the mid-1970s. Watt was the lone priest during that time of Holy Eucharist in Corralitos. The suit claims Watt took the boy to gay bars in San Francisco, got him drunk and told him, "don't tell your parents or I'll cut your balls off." Watt was accused, along with Fr. Michael Marini, in a lawsuit that settled in 1985 of plying a man with drugs to get him to engage in sex acts. Both priests were assigned to St. Joseph's in Capitola during the time in question. News sources in 3/1985 said both men would be leaving the parish - Watt for a long sabbatical and vacation, and Marini because of "stress." There was no mention of the lawsuit or allegations. Watt died 8/13/2002.
