Status: Sued

Diocese: Diocese of Rockville Centre NY

The girl's family reported the alleged abuse to the Diocese and law enforcement; the Diocese did not inform the parish or public and kept Yacyshyn in ministry. The Diocese deemed the allegations unsubstantiated and called the claim an "unfortunate publicity stunt." A New York Supreme Court judge ruled in 12/15 that the lawsuit could proceed.
