Fr. Theodore Anthony Geerts

Accused of sexually abusing boys with Revs. Janssen, Bass, and James W. Murphy in the early 1960s. Pornography was allegedly used. Left active priesthood in 1969. Sued in 2003. Accused of abuse. Default judgment granted against Geerts in 12/2003. Died in 2004. At least three known accusers. Included on the diocese’s list of credibly accused in 7/2008. In 2018 a man stated publicly that he was abused as a child by Geerts and three other priests.
