Fr. John C. Forrester
“Fidelis.” Included on the on the Davenport diocese’s 7/2008 list of credibly accused, noting allegations against him involving three minor males beginning in 1955. Several 2002 and 2003 suits in Seattle claimed Forrester abused boys in the mid-1970s on church outings and overnight trips. Worked in the Seattle archdiocese from 1971 until he was removed in 1979. Died in 2002. Seven plaintiffs participated in a $2.6M settlement in 2005 involving St. Benedict’s Abbey, Kansas City KS archdiocese. Settlement in 11/2006 of Seattle claims. New suit in 12/2010. Name included on the Seattle archdiocese’s list 1/15/2016. Another settlement announced by Seattle archdiocese 11/2018. Settlement of a case in 6/2019 for $225K with the Seattle archdiocese, St. Benedict Abbey and the American Cassinese Congregation. Claim settled by the Seattle archdiocese in 7/2023.
