Fr. James T. Booth

A woman filed suit in 2/2003 alleging that Booth sexually abused her when she was age 15 in the late 1960s. A second woman filed suit in 12/2003 alleging that he molested her 1965-1967. Booth left the priesthood in 1971 to marry a 19-year-old university student. He later became an Episcopal priest, living in California. He denied all allegations. His name appears on list of credibly accused released by the San Diego Diocese in 3/2007. His personnel file was released 10/24/2010. Booth died 1/24/2012.

Amora was a priest of the Dipolog diocese in the Philippines. His name is included on the list of priests with credible allegations released by the San Diego diocese 3/30/2007. Personnel file released 10/24/2010. Accused in 1991 of sexually abusing a 10-year-old girl on two occasions about eight years prior while a Navy chaplain. Settled. (Name sometimes misspelled D'Amora.)

Extern priest from the Diocese of Cali, Colombia. Worked in the San Diego diocese 1962-1963. Accused of sexually abusing children of migrant workers. Arrested in 8/1963. San Diego Bishop Buddy told the Diocese of Cali that if de Francisco left the US and never returned, charges would be set aside. De Francisco was delivered the the border at Tijuana, Mexico and told to return to Cali. Included on the San Diego diocese's list of priests with credible allegations released 3/30/2007. Personnel file released 10/24/2010. Also worked in TX and FL. Included on the Galveston-Houston archdiocese's list 1/31/2019. It notes that De Francisco was removed from ministry in 1960. Believed to have died in the early 1990s.

From Northern Ireland, where he was ordained in 1923 then sent to the U.S. Worked at St Columban's in NE 1923-1924 and St. Columban's in Silver Creek NY 1924-1930. He then returned to Ireland on sick leave 1930-1938. While there he worked in parishes and as a chaplain. Sent back to the U.S. in 1938. Known to have worked in CA, NY and Silver Creek NY, where he died in 1977. Named publicly as credibly accused by the Columbans' U.S. Province on its list in 2/2022 (name spelled "McCourt.") A single allegation is noted, of abuse in 1940. Per the Official Catholic Directory, MacCourt was assigned in 1940 to St. Columban's in San Diego CA.

From Austria. Missionary priest in Brazil for 18 years prior to his arrival in San Diego in 1955; incardinated in 1957. Treated by the Servants of the Paraclete in Jemez Springs NM in 1957, returned to ministry. Several suits were filed in 2003. Accused of abuse, including rape, of as many as 24 girls in the late 1950s-early 1960s. The area was part of the San Diego diocese at the time, later San Bernardino. Robier died in 1994. The first lawsuit set to go to trial in 3/2007 involved allegations by four sisters who were orphans from Germany when allegedly abused in the 1950s. The trial was suspended when the San Diego diocese filed bankruptcy in 2/2007. Robier's name was included on the San Diego diocese's 3/2007 list of credibly accused. Claims settled in 9/2007 as part of a $198.1M settlement. Personnel file released in 10/2010.
