Fr. Melvin F. Thompson
Ordained for the Wichita diocese. Transferred to CO in 1969. Removed as parochial vicar at St. Thomas More in Centennial in 4/10 after recent allegations of sexual misconduct with a minor boy in the 1970s. He denied the allegations. In 5/10 a man said he told the archdiocese of “inappropriate sexual behavior” with him in the early 1990s when he was age 20. Thompson was sent for alcohol abuse treatment. Review board found allegations not supported by evidence. Thompson reinstated in 1/11 and then retired.

Our Database of Publicly Accused does not state or imply that individuals facing allegations are guilty of a crime or liable for civil claims. The reports contained in the database are merely allegations. The U.S. legal system presumes that a person accused of or charged with a crime is innocent until proven guilty. Similarly, individuals who may be defendants in civil actions are presumed not to be liable for such claims unless a plaintiff proves otherwise. Admissions of guilt or liability are not typically a part of civil or private settlements. For more information, see our posting policy.
