Assigned to parishes in Manhattan, Staten Island, Garnersville and the Bronx. Allegations of abuse of male minors began to surface in 1987. Archdiocese settled with 3 men in 1994 who claimed abuse by Theisen in the early 1980s when they were teens. Each received $20K and were made to sign confidentiality agreements. Sent to the Servants of the Paraclete in NM for treatment. Voluntarily laicized in 1994. Died 1/25/13. Subject of settlement 10/27 as part of archdiocese’s compensation plan. On archdiocese’s list 4/26/19. On Dodge City diocese’s list 10/1/19, where he was assigned 10/88-5/89 to the Dominican Convent and Central KS Medical Center in Great Bend.
