Fr. Francis A. Schroering
Accused in 2002 of fondling two girls in the 1960s. Removed in 6/02. HIs accusers were asked to meet with a psychologist who was to make a report to the Diocesan Review Board. In 9/02 the Board considered one claim and recommended that Schroering be “immediately” reinstated. The other claim was not considered because the girl was 18 at the time of the alleged abuse. Retired in 6/03 due to “illness.” Died 6/1/05. At one parish, admitted abuser Fr. Mark Kurzendoerfer was Schroering’s assistant pastor.

Our Database of Publicly Accused does not state or imply that individuals facing allegations are guilty of a crime or liable for civil claims. The reports contained in the database are merely allegations. The U.S. legal system presumes that a person accused of or charged with a crime is innocent until proven guilty. Similarly, individuals who may be defendants in civil actions are presumed not to be liable for such claims unless a plaintiff proves otherwise. Admissions of guilt or liability are not typically a part of civil or private settlements. For more information, see our posting policy.
