Fr. Paul P. Rynne
Rynne’s personnel file, released in 2003, shows allegations that Rynne engaged in inappropriate behavior with a 17-year-old in 1986; received therapy and was reassigned. Admitted in 1994 that he abused and/or raped a boy in the 1960s. Two other claimants came forward. One filed suit in 1/2003. Rynne had a collection of nude photos of boys. Placed on leave after 1994 allegation; retired in 1996. Died in 2001. Criminal or canonical proceedings were not complete at Rynne’s death, per the 8/2011 Boston archdiocese list. New allegations survaced in 5/2017 by a man of abuse as a boy by Rynne at St. Patrick’s in Lawrence.
