Director of the Office of Vocation Promotion, camp director youth leader, pastor. Placed on leave in 5/2003 pending the investigation of allegations that he sexually abused and exploited a boy, beginning when the boy was age 13, 1963-1970. A lawsuit filed in 5/2003 (later dismissed due to the statute of limitations) also claimed Quinn was negligent in the death of a camper in 1968 and that the Diocese covered for him. A suit on this matter was filed in 6/2004. In 12/2004 the Diocese cleared Quinn to return to ministry it found “insufficient evidence.” Quinn died 2/1/2013. Per news in 12/2018, the Diocese received a complaint in 2014 from another man alleging abuse by Quinn in the late 1980s. Included onthe  Diocese’s list 12/3/2018, after the Review Board determined that the allegations in 2003 of the sexual abuse of a boy 1963-1970 were credible. Quinn allegedly plied the boy with alcohol, gave him cash and gifts, and would beat him if he resisted. Lawsuit filed in 2/2019.

Our Database of Publicly Accused does not state or imply that individuals facing allegations are guilty of a crime or liable for civil claims. The reports contained in the database are merely allegations. The U.S. legal system presumes that a person accused of or charged with a crime is innocent until proven guilty. Similarly, individuals who may be defendants in civil actions are presumed not to be liable for such claims unless a plaintiff proves otherwise. Admissions of guilt or liability are not typically a part of civil or private settlements. For more information, see our posting policy.
