Fr. John Pilcher
Pastor of Mater Dei in Topeka when suspended in 9/2021 due to an allegation that he had sexually abused a boy. Pilcher denied the allegation. In 4/2022 the Shawnee Co. District Attorney announced that he would not file charges. The Archdiocese announced on 4/29/2022 that Pilcher would be returned to ministry. Sent to Rome for a sabbatical. Assigned in 1/2024 to a parish in Lenexa, resulting in an outcry from parishioners who demanded Pilcher’s resignation.
