Fr. John M. Picardi, Jr.
Per records released in 2/2003, Picardi was accused in 1992 of raping a 29-year-old male youth minister on a trip to FL. Incident was reported to the Boston archdiocese. A 1995 internal memo said he admitted the act. Placed on sick leave; sent to counseling. Sent in 9/1992 to Paterson, NJ. In 1995 a 12-year-old girl said he abused her. Placed on leave but review board could not substantiate. Transferred in good standing to Phoenix in 1997. Placed on leave in 2/2003. As of 8/2011 he was on medical leave with no restrictions. Per the Boston archdiocese’s list in 10/2015, Picardi’s status was “found unsubstantiated; not restricted; on medical leave.” Died 4/30/2020 in Haverhill, MA.
