Fr. Robert Onofrey
According to the MI Attorney General’s 12/16/2024 Diocese of Lansing Report, in 5/2002 a man told the Diocese that he was sexually abused at age 16-17 in 1974 by Onofrey, during a camping trip out west. The man said that on one of the nights the two of them drank beer and then he went to sleep; a few hours later he woke up to Onofrey performing fellatio on him. He said he told Onofrey to stop, which he did. Onofrey’s alleged victim said that he worried that the priest may have also sexually abused other boys. Onofrey died in 2009.
