Fr. Joseph O’Meara
Parish priest, helped establish covenant community Lamb of God in the 1970s, which has been characterized as a cult. Included in the 4/5/2023 MD Attorney General’s Report, name redacted. Referred to as #155. Allegedly would kiss girls and mothers on their mouths, among other behaviors. One woman said that when she was age 7, O’Meara would try to slide his hand up her leg toward her genitals under the table while having dinner with her family. Further, she said two of her friends said he did the same thing to them. Removed from active ministry in 12/2019 after three woman reported that he touched them inappropriately. O’Meara was retired at the time and living at St. Agnes/St. William of York. Sent to St. John Vianney Center in PA for treatment, but left against advice.
