Fr. Eugene M. O’Sullivan
Complaint to Cardinal Cushing in 1964 that O’Sullivan abused an altar boy. Multiple allegations at first parish; transferred to three other parishes, each time because of multiple complaints. Convicted in 1984 of raping an altar boy. Given five years’ probation on condition that he be kept away from children. Instead, sent by Cardinal Law to Metuchen, where he worked in four more parishes. Recalled to Boston in 1992; retired, given senior priest status. Involuntary laicization announced in 2005. Name included on the Boston archdiocese’s list in 8/2011. Died in 2019.
