Fr. Dominic Nguyen
Sent from the Diocese of Orange to Idaho in 2002 after an ‘affair’ with a woman. Was returned in 2003 to Orange after a repairman found child abuse images on his computer at the church in Idaho. The Diocee of Orange immediately placed him on leave. Idaho authorities later determined there was not sufficient evidence of a criminal act. Status per the Orange website in 8/2016 was “voluntary permanent leave.” Per the Diocese’s list updated 4/2/2019, Nguyen was seeking laicization. The list in 12/2020 shows that Nguyen had been laicized.

Our Database of Publicly Accused does not state or imply that individuals facing allegations are guilty of a crime or liable for civil claims. The reports contained in the database are merely allegations. The U.S. legal system presumes that a person accused of or charged with a crime is innocent until proven guilty. Similarly, individuals who may be defendants in civil actions are presumed not to be liable for such claims unless a plaintiff proves otherwise. Admissions of guilt or liability are not typically a part of civil or private settlements. For more information, see our posting policy.
