Fr. David C. Murphy

Removed from his position as chaplain at Brockton Hospital in 2/2002 because of multiple allegations of abuse. Had been in this assignment since 1997; hospital did not know of past allegations. Multiple allegations shown in personnel file released in 12/2002. One individual received a $20K settlement. New claim received after Murphy was placed on leave. Still on administrative leave as of 8/2011 and canonical proceedings still in process, per Boston archdiocese list. In 10/2015 Murphy’s status was “Found unsubstantiated; Restricted; Senior Priest.” In 2020 the archdiocesan website shows him as “deceased (2014).”
