Fr. Michael J. Mellone
Monsignor. Accused in a lawsuit in 10/2023 of sexually abusing a boy at St. Martin of Tours in Gaithersburg, MD in the 1990s. Mellone’s accuser also claimed abuse at the parish by Deacon Lawrence Bell. Suspended from ministry pending investigation. In 7/2024 Cardinal Gregory announced that there was no evidence that the alleged abuse occurred and that Both Mellone and Bell would be returned to ministry.
