Fr. Francis J. McManus
Removed from hospital chaplaincy in the Fall River diocese after a man alleged in 3/2002 that McManus molested him in the 1970s at Boston College High School. Sent to live under restriction at Campion Center in Weston, MA. Settled for $600K in 1/2003. Another man alleged he was abused by McManus in the early-1980s. The man said he returned his diploma in 1988 when the school failed to investigate. McManus was assigned to parishes in the dioceses of Norwich CT and Kingsport TN between his assignments at BC High and hospitals. (The order’s list erroneously shows him as in Kingsport KY – there is no such place.) Died 1/5/2015. Included on the Northeast Jesuits’ list of credibly accused 1/15/2019. On the Norwich diocese’s list 2/22/2019m which notes reports received 2002-2005 of abuse of multiple minors 1974-1985. On the Knoxville diocese’s list as of 3/6/2020. On the Fall River diocese’s list of credibly accused in 1/2021.
