Fr. Gerard T. McMahon
Accused in 2006 of raping a girl 1967-1970. He would get drunk at the family’s home and they would let him sleep it off in the little girl’s bed. Indicted in 4/2006. Left Boston in 1970 to serve as a military chaplain; remained a priest of the archdiocese. Retired from the military and settled in FL. Pleaded guilty in 5/2006. Sentenced to lifetime probation, to be served in FL. Laicization pending per Boston archdiocese’s list in 8/2011. Died in 2013. On the Archdiocese of Mobile AL list 12/6/2018, where he was assigned at some point to St. Benedict School in Elberta (First name misspelled “Gerald.”)
