Fr. H. Desmond McGee, Jr.
Headmaster of Bradford Central Christian High School in 1997 when suspended after a man filed suit alleging that McGee sexually abused him on at least three occasions 9/1988-10/1989 when he was a 14- to 17-year-old student. McGee denied the allegations, and the Diocese claimed the charges were too old to pursue. The suit was dismissed due to the statute of limitations. McGee returned to active status. He was elevated to Monsignor before the suit’s dismissal was announced. Name not included on the diocese’s 4/6/2018 list. PA authorities opened an investigation in 8/2018, after the release of the PA Grand Jury Report, which did not include McGee. Name added to the Erie diocese’s list in 10/2018. McGee’s accuser again filed suit 8/11/2020, alleging abuse 1987-1990 by McGee and Fr. Michael Amy. McGee died 10/15/2021.

Our Database of Publicly Accused does not state or imply that individuals facing allegations are guilty of a crime or liable for civil claims. The reports contained in the database are merely allegations. The U.S. legal system presumes that a person accused of or charged with a crime is innocent until proven guilty. Similarly, individuals who may be defendants in civil actions are presumed not to be liable for such claims unless a plaintiff proves otherwise. Admissions of guilt or liability are not typically a part of civil or private settlements. For more information, see our posting policy.
