Mary McAvoy
Accused in a lawsuit filed 5/11/04 of sexually abusing a 9-year-old girl at the Boston School for the Deaf in about 1972. Allegations included digital rape and physical abuse. The initial suit named 9 plaintiffs and 14 defendants, two of whom removed themselves from ministering to children. More suits were filed. Other plaintiffs accused McAvoy of abuse. Witnesses regarding pattern and practice at the school were barred; all suits were withdrawn or dismissed.
