Fr. Francis J. Manzo
Monsignor. Manzo is one of 12 priests and a religious brother named in a 10/2002 lawsuit against the Diocese of Brooklyn, filed by 43 plaintiffs. One man claimed Manzo violently abused him when he was an altar boy during the early 1990s. Manzo was officially on leave from the diocese beginning in 1995. He is not indexed in the Catholic Directory after 2002. A church bulletin in 9/2016 indicates that Marzo was still a priest of the diocese. Included on the diocese’s list in 2/2019, which notes permanent removal from ministry 2/20/2003.

Our Database of Publicly Accused does not state or imply that individuals facing allegations are guilty of a crime or liable for civil claims. The reports contained in the database are merely allegations. The U.S. legal system presumes that a person accused of or charged with a crime is innocent until proven guilty. Similarly, individuals who may be defendants in civil actions are presumed not to be liable for such claims unless a plaintiff proves otherwise. Admissions of guilt or liability are not typically a part of civil or private settlements. For more information, see our posting policy.
