Arrested in 1993. Convicted in 1994 of the sexual assault of two boys. Sentenced to 20 years. Sued. Included in a 10/2003 settlement. Included on the Archdiocese’s list in 3/2006. A second lawsuit was filed in 5/2006. At least one claim was included in a 5/2007 $6.65M settlement with 14 people claiming abuse by 12 priests. One claim was included in an 8/2008 $12.7M settlement involving 11 priests and 16 plaintiffs. Laicized in 12/2007. New settlement in 7/2009. Spent 9 months in a secure treatment facility in WI, as a violent sexual predator; released in 8/2013. Registered sex offender. Personnel file released in 1/2014. New suit in 1/2014. Last known to be living in WI. Died in 3/2019. New suit in 9/2016 claimed abuse over two years starting in 1979 of a boy, age 10. Settlement in 6/2021 with two men alleging abuse beginning age 10 at St. Bede’s on the South Side. Included in the 5/23/2023 IL Attorney General’s Report, which notes 72 “reported survivors.”
