Deacon James C. Lockwood
Ordained for the permanent diaconate in 1974. First named publicly as accused by the New Orleans archdiocese on its list 11/2/2018. Allegation noted to have been received in 1978 of abuse in the late 1970s. Removed from ministry in 1978. Included on the Baton Rouge diocese’s list in early 2019. Had worked as a lay teacher for five months at St. Aloysius School in Baton Rouge. Per news articles in 8/1978, Lockwood was arrested on charges related to allegations that he had molested two boys, who were residents of Burton Memorial Boys Home, and several other youths in his neighborhood. Lockwood was a psychiatric social worker.
