Fr. Richard Lauinger
On 3/28/2016 the archdiocese announced credible allegations that Lauinger sexually abused minors while in ministry. A woman disclosed publicly that Lauinger raped her when she was 10 years old in the 1950s and attending Our Lady of Sorrows in Farmington MI, where Lauinger was a priest. She filed a police report in 2/2016; no prosecution due to the statute of limitations. Lauinger also worked at parishes in Detroit, Royal Oak, Scotland, and St. Clair Shores. Left the priesthood in 1975 and moved from MI in 1985. Per the archdiocese on 4/1/2016, several victims had come forward since 1/2016. Included on the archdiocese’s list 6/10/2019. Laicized.
