Fr. Stephen M. Kilcarr
In 2020 a man received a settlement from the Archdiocese through its IVCP, for claims that Kilcarr sexually abused him as a boy, ages 13-15, dozens of times in the rectory of St. Joseph’s in West Orange in the 1960s. Accused in a press conference held by Attorney Mitchell Garabedian on 8/7/2019 of sexually abusing a second boy. Kilcarr moved to Seton Hall Prep in 1968, where he had close access to thousands of young boys for multiple decades. He died 6/22/2017.
