Fr. Kevin Kelly
Per 2/19 news, a 62-year-old man said Kelly sexually abused him repeatedly over a three-month period when he was in elementary school and Kelly was assigned to St. Thomas the Apostle parish. The man received a settlement from the archdiocese’s IRCP (Independent Reconciliation and Compensation Program) in 7/17. He filed suit in 2019, after a new law extended the SOL in NY. The man claimed he was tricked into giving up his rights to further claims in accepting the IRCP settlement. Kelly’s name was included on the archdiocese’s list 4/26/19. It noted he left ministry, and died in 2008.

Our Database of Publicly Accused does not state or imply that individuals facing allegations are guilty of a crime or liable for civil claims. The reports contained in the database are merely allegations. The U.S. legal system presumes that a person accused of or charged with a crime is innocent until proven guilty. Similarly, individuals who may be defendants in civil actions are presumed not to be liable for such claims unless a plaintiff proves otherwise. Admissions of guilt or liability are not typically a part of civil or private settlements. For more information, see our posting policy.
