Accused in 2002 of giving a 16-year-old boy wine, then fondling him in bed during a trip in the early 1980s. Keller also wrote “love letters” to the boy. Keller denied abuse but admitted holding the youth in a “manner inappropriate for a priest.” Archdiocese said conduct did not fit definition of sex abuse. Kept in ministry, including during the archdiocese’s investigation. Pastor in 2019 of Prince of Peace parish in Houston, there since 1999. In 12/18 another man alleged abuse as a minor by Keller. Suspended 1/31/19 pending investigation. Bishop allowed him to celebrate one last mass prior to suspension. On archdiocese’s list 1/31/19. In 5/19 Keller requested retirement “for age and medical reasons.” In 6/19 a third man alleged abuse by Keller at age 15.
