Fr. Herman Bernard Kamlage
Included on the diocese’s list 7/31/2020 of those with substantiated allegations. Ministry restricted 10/9/1994. Retired 4/28/1995. “Charter Suspension” 9/13/2002. Died 12/01/2018. Reportedly, court records show accusations against Kamlage of the abuse of at least six boys, ages 5-18, during visits to the priest’s cabin at Lake Carnico. Journals kept by Kamlage 1981-1985 surfaced in 7/2020, in which he asked God for forgiveness for “carnal” behavior, and said of a boy’s pending visit, “What fantasies and anticipation.”
