Fr. Richard Allen Henry
Archbishop Mahony was warned in a memo in 1988 about Henry’s behavior around young boys. Henry was removed from active ministry in 1991. Pleaded guilty in 12/1991 to the sexual abuse of four boys, who were brothers, 1985-1991. The boys were ages 10-12. Henry received treatment. Sentenced in 1993 to eight years in prison. Removed in 1993. New accusations in 2002. A civil suit was filed in 2003 by three plaintiffs. Per the Archdiocese’s list, there were 13 accusers. Included in a 12/2006 $60M settlement involving 22 priests. Personnel file released in 1/2013.
