Fr. James E. Gaudreau

Removed from assignment at St Joseph’s in Lynn as of 9/23/2012 after an allegation that he had abused a child in 2006. Placed on unpaid leave with no public ministry during archdiocesan investigation. Police were notified. Gaudreau had been at the parish since 1984, pastor since 1993. As of 9/15/2013 the District Attorney said he would not file criminal charges against Gaudreau. Resigned from parish in 11/2014; canonical process ongoing. On 9/10/2020 the archdiocese announced that Gaudreau had been found guilty by the Church of child abuse and his sentenced was affirmed by the Vatican to live a life of prayer and penance. Included on the archdiocese’s list of accused.
