Fr. Edmond L. Gagne
Named publicly as accused by the Alexandria Diocese on its list 2/6/2019. Assigned to a Marksville parish for two months in 1974. Transferred to Houston, TX. Removed from public ministry in 1986. Died in 1990. The Diocese reviewed Gagne’s file in 2019 and found multiple credible allegations of sexual abuse of male minors in the 1980s. Accused in a civil lawsuit filed 6/11/2024 of sexually abusing an altar boy 1971-1972, while assigned to St. Francis Xavier Cathedral in Alexandria. Per the suit, the abuse occurred in several Alexandria locations and on a trip to Monterey, Mexico “to deliver clothes to the needy.”
