Fr. James Michael Ford
Accused in a lawsuit in L.A. of abuse of a boy 1968-1971 at Mater Dei High School and Holy Family Cathedral, beginning when the boy was age 14. Archdiocese investigated and found no basis for the allegation. Accuser received $225K from the Orange diocese (established in 1976) and more from L.A. He told Archbishop Mahony of many other victims. Ford was sent to Santa Barbara in 1971 even after his accuser told two priests (both accused) that he was abused. Retired 6/2005. Faculties removed 2006 and restored in 2008. Died 5/22/2011. Personnel file released 1/13.
