Fr. Stephen C. Foley
Named in multiple civil suits by men claiming abuse when they were teenagers. Allegedly used his position as fire and police chaplain to meet victims and to lure them into ‘relationships.’ One accuser’s father reported Foley to the Archdiocese in the 1960s. Not removed until 1993 after a man told police. Removed from position as state police chaplain around the same time. Settlement of $500K in 3/2007. Settlement of $600K in 3/2008. A $750K settlement in 1/2009. Total of 13 settlements in all by 2009. Laicized 4/29/2016. Included on the Archdiocese’s list of accused.
