Fr. Joseph A. Ferreira
In a lawsuit filed in 11/2006, a woman alleged she was molested by Ferreira at Our Lady of Good Counsel in San Leandro in 1973 and 1974 when she was in her teens. She also claimed that Ferreira continued to harass and stalk her throughout the years. The case later settled out of court. A second woman filed suit in 6/2009 alleging abuse by Ferreira 1970-1972 at Our Lady of Good Counsel in San Leandro. Included on the Diocese’s list of credibly accused in 2019. It notes that Ferreira was removed from ministry/retired 12/28/1998. He died 12/21/2014.
