Fr. Joseph J. Faraone
Left the priesthood sometime after 2006. Assignments included parishes in Carmel, Yorktown, Mount Kisco and Hopewell Junction. Arrested in 9/2015 on charges related to sexually abusing a 50-year-old brain-injured woman who was unable to consent. The abuse occurred on multiple occasions at a facility in Brewster for those with cerebral palsey and brain injuries, where Faraone worked. His victim had the mental capacity of a 12-year-old. Farone was convicted in 2016, and served a one-year jail sentence. In 12/2017, Faraone was a high-risk registered sex offender on probation and living in Brewster, and the facility faced a lawsuit. Accused in a lawsuit in 2020 of sexually abusing a minor 1973-1976 at St. Francis of Assisi in Mount Kisco NY.
