Fr. Bruce O. Ewing
Left the priesthood in 1977. Married and raised a family. Civil suit filed 4/2002. Criminally charged in 2003 with the rape and sodomy in the early 1970s of the plaintiff in the lawsuit , beginning when she was age 14. He denied the allegation. Settled through mediation in 3/2003. Criminal trial ended in mistrial in 2004. New criminal trial held in 3/2007; found guilty of one count on 3/22/2007. Sentenced to 5 years’ probation in 5/2007. Laicized in 2004. Led parish council in 2010; terminated in 2/2011. On Sex Offender Registry. On Louisville’s list of accused in 2019. Died 3/28/2021.
