Fr. Charles F. Dearing
Parish priest, Air Force chaplain. Left the priesthood in 1971. Married and raised a family. A woman filed suit in 4/2003 alleging abuse by Dearing when she was about 10 in 1966-1968. Suit settled in 6/2003 as part of a massive diocesan settlement. Criminal charges filed in 7/2003. He pleaded not guilty. Charges later dismissed after prosecutor said there was “insufficient evidence at this time” to proceed. Dearing died 2/23/2009.
