Fr. Thomas M. Curran
Removed by the Archdiocese in 8/2002 due to a recently received allegation of abuse of a minor in the 1970s. A second allegation of abuse was made in 2004. The Archdiocese announced in 3/2007 that it could not substantiate either of the allegations. Curran’s status then changed from “on leave” to “permanent disability” but he was limited to family only when celebrating sacraments. New allegations were raised in 9/2010; all privileges removed. Still on administrative leave as of 8/2011 and canonical proceedings were still in process per the Archdiocese’s list. In 8/2022 Curran’s status is “Found unsubstantiated; Restricted; Senior Priest.” (His name on the list is spelled “Tomas.”)

Our Database of Publicly Accused does not state or imply that individuals facing allegations are guilty of a crime or liable for civil claims. The reports contained in the database are merely allegations. The U.S. legal system presumes that a person accused of or charged with a crime is innocent until proven guilty. Similarly, individuals who may be defendants in civil actions are presumed not to be liable for such claims unless a plaintiff proves otherwise. Admissions of guilt or liability are not typically a part of civil or private settlements. For more information, see our posting policy.
