Fr. John P. Cronin
Name on a list in 9/02 of priests investigated by the D.A’.s office for allegations of sexual misconduct. Reportedly there were three victims, all beyond the statute of limitations. In 10/02 he admitted that a woman went to the Bishop in 1991 alleging an inappropriate sexual relationship when she was a teenager and that “there was some truth” to what she said. Sent for evaluation and found not to be a threat. Placed in charge of cemeteries with some restrictions. Bishop O’Malley ordered further restrictions after two more allegations surfaced in the mid-1990s. Died 4/28/14. Included in 1/21/ on the diocese’s list of credibly accused. It notes that his faculties were removed.
