Fr. Jules Convert
Ordained in France. Worked in AK 1942-1978. Returned to France in 1979. Multiple allegations, spanning most of the length of his career. Died 7/28/1995. In 2003 8 men filed suit alleging abuse from 1955 to about 1977. Most settled claims against the order; claims against the diocese were pending in 2003. Two settled completely and other plaintiffs joined the case. Total of 16-18 plaintiffs made accusations. The AK Supreme Court ruled in 8/2006 that case could proceed. Claims included in a 11/2007 settlement with the Jesuits. Another 19 claims settled in 3/2011 as part of aJesuit settlement. Included on the Jesuit West Province list 12/7/2018. The Fairbanks diocese shows on its list updated in 2/2022 38 reports of abuse by Convert.
