Br. Berard William Connolly
Franciscan brother. Died in 1999. Lawsuit filed in 1993 by a woman alleging abuse in the early 1970s in the Spokane diocese, when she was a Marycliff High School student. Connolly was sent to therapy. Transferred to CA. Accused of abuse 1985-1987 at St. Anthony Seminary in the Los Angeles archdiocese. Settlement of suit in that case announced 8/10/2006. Name has been spelled both Connelly and Connolly, Berard and Bernard. Personnel file released in 5/2012. Included on the Oakland diocese’s list 6/1/2019. On the Santa Barbara Province Franciscans list 5/31/2019, which notes alleged sex abuse of minors 1960-1963, 1982-1984 reported in 1993, 2003, 2004, 2014. Included on the Tucson diocese’s list of credibly accused.
