Fr. George H. Clements
Pastor of Holy Angels in Bronzeville 1969-1991. Assigned to the Diocese of Naussau, Bahamas 1991-1993, then Washington DC 1993-2006. Retired in 2006. Clements admitted to a reporter in 1994 that he had been the subject of rumors of sexual misconduct. In 8/2019 he was suspended from ministry pending the investigation of an allegation that he sexually abused a child, ages 7-12, 1974-1979. Clements died in 11/2019. The alleged victim received a settlement from the archdiocese in 2/2022. Another man who accused Clements of sexually abusing him as a boy received a settlement, as announced in 4/2022 by Attorney Mitchell Garabedian.
