Fr. Joseph L. Clauss
Removed 1990 after allegations that he abused a youth in OH. Had been living for 11 years in the Servants of the Paraclete treatment facility in Jemez Springs, NM; not allowed to leave without supervision. Per one source in 2002, Clauss was an “incurable pedophile” and had recently been soliciting money from former parishioners who believed he was doing mission work on Indian reservations. Another allegation surfaced 5/02. Clauss died 10/11/03. On the diocese’s list 2/22/19. It notes 10 credible allegations and that he admitted to at least 1. Administrative leave 12/90, removed from public ministry 7/92.
