Fr. Thomas W. Butler
Accused in 12/2012 by a man of sexually abusing him when he was ages 16-17 from 1978-1980. Butler admitted to a sexual relationship with the accuser when he was an adult, during 1983-1985. Butler was sent at that time to treatment. Bishop Boyea decided that the allegation that the man was sexually abused by Butler as a minor was false. Butler was kept in ministry. He died in 5/2018. Included in the MI Attorney General’s 12/2024 Diocese of Lansing report.
