Fr. Donald Eugene Broderson
Accused in a 4/2003 lawsuit of molesting an altar boy many times in the 1970s. Broderson was “forced into retirement” in 1991 and officially retired later. The Diocese knew of complaints against him in 1991. Became a marriage family therapist/licensed hypnotist in Richmond, CA. Settlements in 2003. Admitted to abuse. Laicized 3/21/2005. Six brothers sued in 2007. Case dismissed then reinstated in 2/2009 by an appeals court. Dismissed by the CA Supreme Court 3/29/2012. Broderson died 9/19/2010. Included on the Diocese’s list in 2019.
