Fr. John Raymond Bostwick, III
Ordained for the Richmond diocese, transferred in 1972 to the Archdiocese of Baltimore. Returned to Richmond in 1985. Sent to the House of Affirmation in MA in 1989, unassigned for about a year. Assigned to the Lafayette, LA diocese 1992-1996 at the request of his friend, a Lafayette Bishop. Accused in 4/1996 of the sexual abuse of a boy 1980-1982 in Harrisburg, PA. Suspended in LA when allegations surfaced and he was to be sent to treatment. Sent back to Richmond. Another allegation made in 8/1996, of attempted molestation of a 14- to 15-year-old boy in VA in the summer of 1987. Name included on the Harrisburg diocese’s list released 8/1/2018. Included in 8/14/2018 PA Grand Jury report. Added 9/2018 to the Baltimore archdiocese’s list. On Richmond diocese’s list 2/13/2019. Included in the 4/5/2023 MD Attorney General’s Report.
