Seminarian Rudy Blea
A civil suit filed 6/10/1994 alleged abuse by Blea of at least one youth during counseling sessions 1969-1970. Included on the Santa Fe archdiocese list of accused 9/12/2017, as a Benedictine. Blea sued the archdiocese in 1994 and again in 2018, claiming he was never a member of the Benedictines, nor employed by them or in residence with them at any time during his life, nor has he ever been a brother, monk, deacon or priest in any diocese of the Catholic church. He said he did give talks at a retreat in Albuquerque that his accuser attended. Per the Sante Fe archdiocese on its list 3/8/2019, Blea was in formation for the archdiocese 1969-1976. Blea said he became a seminarian in 1974.
