Fr. Declan Bailey
Accused in a 10/24/2019 lawsuit against the Franciscans’ Holy Name Province and the Franciscan Sisters of the Poor. Per the suit, Bailey sexually abused a boy, about age 4, in 1984. Bailey was a St. Anthony Community Hospital in Warwick NY chaplain. He would allegedly pick the boy up from his school, Our Lady Queen of Peace, in West Milford and spend the day with him at the hospital. The abuse allegedly included oral sex and anal rape, and took place at the hospital facility, in the chapel and in Bailey’s residence at the hospital. Bailey referred to the boy as his grandson.
